Facebook’s Live Chat for Businesses

Facebook have recently announced that there are now more than 40 million active small business pages on their site. They have now launched more support for these pages through the Boost Your Business program, and the new online chat platform.

Page owners have wanted a way to interact more directly with Facebook, and so now they’ve launched the dedicated chat line for businesses. This allows users to get the support that they need, when they need it, without having to wait a couple of days for an email response. It’s a much more effective customer support service, and is available to businesses that advertises on Facebook.

“Advertisers can chat and screen share with a trained Ads Specialist to get quick answers to their Facebook advertising questions.”

For now, the desktop chat is only available to US, UK and Ireland, but will be available to more countries later in the year. Mobile chat and phone support will also be tested this year, and new support channels will be announced as they become available.

The 2015 Boost Your Business program is designed to bring small businesses together to share best practices and hear about the latest marketing strategies and tools. The program includes both half-day and 2 hour pop up events, but are currently only being held in the US. However, they are planning international events to hopefully be taking place by the end of this year.
